Cabinet members leave Downing Street following meeting with PM

The DUP’s Brexit spokesman Sammy Wilson said the Prime Minister’s deal was a ‘prison’ for the UK locked by a key held by EU negotiator Michel Barnier. The intervention is devastating to Mrs May’s bleak hopes of getting her EU divorce through Parliament. Downing Street had a glimmer of hope this morning when Brexiteer ringleader Jacob Rees-Mogg and other Eurosceptics signalled they are ready to U-turn and support the PM. But if the DUP refuse to endorse the deal at the 11th hour Mrs May’s chances of winning 75 more votes at the third attempt than she managed on March 12 appear to be shrinking fast. The Prime Minister has until Friday to pass her deal and secure an orderly exit from the EU – while ministers have threatened to call a general election if the chaos continues and they have a soft Brexit forced upon them in the coming weeks. But the U-turns from Tories Mr Rees-Mogg, Michael Fabricant and James Gray may prove too late, with some of their hardcore Brexiteer colleagues including Mark Francois and the DUP still refusing to vote for the deal before Friday. The Prime Minister is now expected to address her MPs on Wednesday night, and speculation is high that she could offer to step down to get her deal over the line in a vote on Thursday. Boris Johnson has already indicated that he could back the deal if she agrees to go.

  1. Jacob Rees-Mogg's U-Turn has more to do with yielding to the Queen's wish at a Sandringham W.I meeting than any principle that he may previously have held.

  2. So parliament now has the power" this will end up more of a mess… they should not have the right to revoke Brexit or slow it down by having another year or two to decide. The public voted leave now you pick which way. Deal or no Deal" that is the two they should vote on.

  3. No deal. Leave. America are gagging to fill the gap left by the lesser EU. This will be as rough as not adopting the Euro or Y2K was…..same fear stories, same rubbish when you #LookIntoIt. Those on the left over here are the same as those on the left anywhere – they can see truth like the Mueller report and they just make up what they think it says/what they want it to say and stick with that narrative. They're kinda clouded…..

  4. We the British people have already voted to come out of the eu and thought of having to extend the time before we.can have our country back and to suggest that the men of the Tories party could get a deal is laughable I think the prime ministers has worked so hard to give us democracy with no encouragement from parliament I hope all the people who voted for Brexit will now stand by her

  5. TRAITORS… THE LOT! ✊🏻 DELIVER THE BREXIT WE VOTED OR SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES! ✊🏻 YELL0W VESTS READY πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ THIS ESTABLISHMENT WILL BURN πŸ”₯πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ”₯ ✊🏻 THE ESTABLISHMENT, POLICE AND MEDIA ARE UNWILLING TO UPHOLD THE LAW OF OUR LAND INSTEAD CHOOSING TO PUNISH INNOCENT PEOPLE EXERCISING FREE SPEECH AND EXPOSING THE TRUTH! ✊🏻 CIVIL WAR IS COMING! ✊🏻 STAND UP FOR YOUR RIGHTS! ✊🏻 STAND UP FOR YOUR COUNTRY! ✊🏻 STAND UP FOR YOUR FREEDOMS! ✊🏻

  6. Never again should a woman run this country they are too mentally unstable. They should stick to knitting and stroking kittens. Strip them of the vote until they are mature enough to realise its importance.

  7. The traitorous politicians are treating the Referendum as if it were any usual Parliamentary Bill dreamt up by them and debated by them – IT IS NOT !! – it was a peoples vote plain and simple, IN or OUT – that was the whole idea of it, nothing to do with the politicians. Their job was to administer the leaving process, as decided by the voters, not hijack and pervert it.

  8. If the media types gathered there had an ounce of journalistic integrity they'd be asking why we're not leaving on Friday as we were promised over and over and over.

  9. HA HA HA looks like the blind leading the blind coming out of that crazy house there is not one of them that know what we the British public want and voted for they have not got a clue we are lucky if they know what day it is
